Pirate Baseball Travel Team and Pirate Baseball Training Academy membership registration is now open. Attached are more details on the Participation Fee and Membership descriptions/costs. A few important notes ............
1 - Pirate Baseball webpage for Travel Team and Membership registration - https://www.bayportyouthbaseball.com/. Player fees are paid in full at the time of registration and due before the first workout in January. 2019-20 facility membership passes end Sat, Oct 31. New memberships start Nov 1. Memberships can be paid in full, or paid with a small down payment with the rest due Feb 15.
2 - All player fees were increased by $20 to help cover the increased costs of tournament fees and to help balance out our $4K financial loss from last year. Even with this slight increase in fees, compared to other baseball clubs, and to other club sports in our area - both boys and girls, we still have one of the lowest costs. There is no fee increase for facility memberships.
3 - New this year. The 13u-15u fee also includes your Traveling League fee. This is why it might appear a bit higher than the other groups. In the past, there was an additional $85 charge in the spring for league registration. We've now packaged league and travel teams fees together for 13-15u - so no league fees in the spring for 13-15u. Note : League fees are NOT included with Travel Team registration for the 7u-12u. Those leagues are run through HSYSA where there is a separate registration and fee in the spring. Players must play league in order to be eligible for Pirate Travel Teams.
4 - Due to the high school season being extended into the second week of June - which cuts down on the number of games and tournaments our 15u-18u can participate in, we reduced their cost by $50 from what it would have been in a typical summer.
5 - Important reminder. There is a required fundraising responsibility for all players 7u-18u. There is no additional cost to the family if you sell $200 worth of beef jerky. There is an $80 buyout option if you so choose. This will take place in June.
6 - We typically start the optional workouts mid January, and start practices mid Feb. Right now there is some uncertainty on if/when we'll be able to use the school districts facilities. Fortunately, we still have our facility. More info will be forthcoming.
7 - Coaches for 2021. 9U - Tom Koseman, Matt Kuse, and Justin VanAllen. 10U - Head Coaches are Jeremy Garcia and Josh Chapin with Bryan Berg with Ken Loewenhagen as Assistant Coaches. 11U - Head Coach is Tadd Russell with Jesse Jacques, Corey Massie, and Jason Nuss as Assistant Coaches. 12U - Head Coach is Travis Orlando with Art Adams, Jamie Broehm, Scott Bunkelman, and Mark Smith as Assistant Coaches. 13U - Head Coach is Andy Berg with Bryan LeClaire, Alan Nast, and Scott Prevost as Assistant Coaches. 14U - Head Coach is Harvey Knutson with Mike Bruckner and Rick Huben as Assistants. 15U - to be determined.
8 - 7u and 8u teams start practice in April. Let me know if you're interested in helping coach.
9 - You probably saw the note that went out through the HSYSA organization. We are in great need of a Concessions Director. Please consider getting involved. Let me know if you'd like to discuss further.

Every year the Pirate Baseball Club provides an opportunity for over 200 Howard-Suamico boys to participate in tournament baseball. This program is for boys with the skill and/or interest to participate in a competitive tournament environment. There will be tournament team opportunities for grades 1st-9th. Tournament teams will participate in tournaments throughout Wisconsin during the summer. Tournament Team practices will be offered once or twice a week from Feb through July. Practices will be used to improve individual and team skills. It is not mandatory that your son attends every practice and/or tournament; however, regular attendance is highly encouraged. Tournament Team members are required to continue their participation on their regular league teams.
Understand that the same objectives as league play – skill development, sportsmanship, and having fun will be a priority, however, winning will become a higher priority during tournament play competition. Parents will have to evaluate their son’s level of interest and skill when deciding to participate on tournament teams.
